Barayih Salem is an urban regeneration project in Salmiya, Kuwait, that transformed Salem Al-Mubarak Street into a pedestrian shopping avenue. It was designed to foster social engagement, boost tourism and retail, and offer spaces for markets and exhibitions, featuring walking areas, children's playgrounds, and fountains. The project aimed to improve the walkability of the new pedestrianized zone and introduce opportunities for markets and exhibitions. However, as of early 2026, the kiosks and shops in Barayih Salem were ordered to be vacated, and the area is currently undergoing a retendering process.
